Since 2015, we’ve equipped students with the skills, tools, and mentorship to explore and shape the world around them.
Our Model.
We coach design thinking.
An approach to innovation that combines the human experience, possibilities of technology, and requirements for business success.
Grounded in real-life experiences helping the world’s leading companies, governments, and non-profits innovate.
We expand the classroom.
Time tested after-school program that complements the core curriculum and is delivered in partnership with educators.
Active, hands-on lessons that spark students’ excitement and provide immediate exposure to mentors throughout the school year.
How It Works.
The journey is broken down into four missions designed to put each student in the pilot’s seat of their education.
Mission 1.
EXPLORE
Search: Students search for problems that need fixing in their personal lives, in their families, or in the communities and systems around them. They go beneath the surface to find a real problem, for real people, that aligns with their interests and passions.
Define: They conduct research to articulate why their problem is one worth solving, how big of a problem it may be, and how addressing it could lead to a positive impact in the world.
Mission 2.
DISCOVER
Deepen: Students understand their user’s experience and needs through interviews and observations. They break down the problem into its component parts and highlight the behaviors and pain points that need to be influenced to spark change.
Design: We then form groups to generate creative ideas for how to address pain points, prioritizing those that show the most promise and visualizing the experience to show how it would work.
Mission 3.
CREATE
Build, Test, Learn, Refine: Students build a prototype using learned skills and user insights, iteratively making changes as they put it in the hands of real people to see what works, what doesn’t, and whether it resolves the overarching problem.
The prototype represents the students’ visualization of the future user experience and features required to enable it.
Mission 4.
LAUNCH
Model: Students determine the solution’s business model so it is positioned to operate at scale. From resourcing to partnerships, they assess what would be needed for the solution to be successful and sustainable over the long-term.
Blast Off: Students round out their mission by planning how the solution will be launched out of their minds and into the world, focusing on the branding, messaging, and marketing campaign.
How We Succeed, Together.
We believe that students achieve their best outcomes when presented with clear success requirements and empowered by a collaborative network of schools, educators, coaches, and parents.
Students
We hold our students to a high bar and expect them to be accountable for showing up, doing the work, and giving their best during and between our sessions together
Schools
We primarily work with public schools that maintain formal computer science and/or technology curricula and are willing to engage continuously throughout the school year
Educators
We partner with educators who are committed to serving as active participants in the mission and to help students meaningfully participate and succeed
Coaches
And last, but not least, our teams of coaches from different innovative companies and organizations are committed to delivering educational, enriching, and exciting missions through a mix of virtual and in-person sessions throughout the school year
